Famed Brooklyn Restaurant Under Fire for NRA Event

One of my favorite Italian restaurants is Gargiulo's in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The popular restaurant is hosting an NRA fundraiser. Local liberal politicians spoke out, saying,

“At a time when our country is mourning the loss of 17 lives in a mass shooting, it is profoundly disappointing that a storied Coney Island institution, with a long history of being a strong civic and community partner, is choosing to host a National Rifle Association fundraising event that includes raffle giveaways of guns."

Just because a tragedy happened doesn't mean it's okay to take away our second amendment right. It is virtually impossible to own a gun in New York and now it seems hard to have a local event.
Ross Barkan, a Democrat challenging the not so more conservative State Senator Marty Golden, spoke about the NRA,

"These shootings keep happening because the NRA cares more about AR-15’s than actual people.”

The NRA, and all of its members, which includes me, understand that the second amendment right allows us to be protected. Allows our schools to be protected. Abolishing "No Gun Zones" and allowing good guys with guns in the school will protect children and will stop these horrific mass shootings. Attacking our second amendment right will lead to more death.
